Magazine Covers

Raygun magazine is pretty much synonymous with graphic design, so here's just a few of the front covers..sick! Plus a number of other tasty lookin' morsels - Joe Kral, you sir are the man.

Brain Food

But brain food with shit loads of flavour!
Lifted a few of the printed PROTEIN journals at the Offset festival in Dublin earlier in the year. Really interesting and inspiring read. Get your lookin' apparatus over to the website for some cracking interviews, insights and more.

Mattson Creative CBS Posters

A stunning series of poster designs by Mattson Creative. Commissioned by CBS for their L.A office. Class!
Check out more work and surely one of the coolest spaces to work here.

Digital Painting

Thought it was maybe about time I posted some of my own work. Not design based, purely illustration, well digital painting in Photoshop to be more precise. These things are pretty ancient now; don't really get the time to dabble in as much of this as I would like any more, an I'm pretty sure I'd be rusty enough to merit a tetanus jab at this stage!.

Painted directly in Photoshop using an intuos 2 A5 tablet. Mix of styles here from experimental speed paintings (under 30 mins) to pieces taking about 3 hours, purely for enjoyment and exercise.

Branding and Logo Links

Here's a few more links on branding and logo design/inspiration. Time for a cuppa and a movie me thinks.

Game of Thrones

Nike designer Darrin Crescenzi has taken the 'Houses' from Game of Thrones and designed a set of icons for each with a modern twist. I get the argument that they maybe should look more medieval, but I think that misses the point; These aren't intended to be used on the show as the actual sigils, I think it's a great concept and direction of inspiration....bloody well executed too (no pun intended)!

You can read more about it here from the man himself..and o'course buy yourself a copy!

American Airlines Rebrand?

There seems to be quite a bit of confusion on what went on behind this 'rebrand'...and apparently it's not actually going ahead. All I know is I'm diggin the style of this big time...being a fan of Mad Men might have someting to do with loving this retro styling (something you're going to be seeing a lot of in the graphics industry if you haven't already started noticing it.)

Anyway, check out the stylish work below and get over to Anna's website for more excellent works.

Sagmeister and BNS - EDP rebrand

A collaboration between two industry behemoths which has resulted in (for me at least) an extremely successful and flexible rebrand. The modular icon based system allows hundreds of possibilities and combinations, perfectly reflecting the dynamic nature of EDP, a renewable energy supplier.
